BSD SpecLink may be used by a single user or
installed on a local area network (LAN) for use by any number of
workstations. Configurations are available for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, up
to 10, up to 20, and up to 30 users. The network configuration
allows any workstation on the network to use the software but
limits the number of simultaneous users. Here are the
requirements for user workstations.
- Intel-compatible processor, 1 GHz or better.
- Windows® 2000, XP, or Vista.
- 512 megabytes of RAM
- 500 MB of available disk space.
- XGA monitor and matching video card.
- CD-ROM reader.
- Laser or inkjet printer.
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher.
- Internet access required for Meter Mode.
No other software is required to use BSD SpecLink. Formatting and printing of sections, project table of contents, and many reports on project requirements all can be accomplished from within the program. If desired, BSD SpecLink files may be exported as RTF (Word/WP) files to a word processor (not available in Meter Mode), but all intelligence associated with the files will be lost when this step is taken.
