Intelligent Checklists

So you sell a complex product that’s difficult to specify? Do you offer a wide range of products that makes it difficult for spec writers to make the correct selection? An intelligent checklist is a short series of options that automatically edit the specification for a project in response to selections. BSD’s intelligent checklists simplify the process of writing difficult specs.

Sample of Specification Writing

Cosella-Dörken Products Inc., located in Beamsville, Ontario, Canada, provides polyethylene waterproofing, drainage, and vapor barrier products utilizing a unique "dimpled" design. As one of their marketing efforts, they have added a proprietary section to SpecLink®, to make specifying this product very easy. BSD prepared the specification using the company's product catalog and the company approved the text. Then BSD put the section into BSD SpecLink®, added notes, intelligent links, and a basic checklist at the top. All SpecLink® users have access to this section -- it is also available to people evaluating SpecLink® after downloading. As another aspect of the company's marketing efforts, BSD provided them with a word processing version of the specification. Although this version does not have all the built-in intelligence as the SpecLink version, it is very helpful to those specifiers who don't use SpecLink yet.
