SCHOTT PYRAN® fire-rated glass-ceramics provide transparent safety. PYRAN® Platinum glass-ceramic is the world’s first and only environmentally-friendly fire-rated glass-ceramic; it is produced without hazardous heavy metals arsenic, antimony and barium. PYRAN® Platinum glass-ceramics are transparent without any amber tint, have a superior surface quality and are wireless.They have are fire-rated up to 180 minutes with the required hose stream test and are UL classified.PYRAN® Platinum glass-ceramics are suited for use with standard fire-rated frames with the same rating, and they conform to positive pressure test standards.



SCHOTT offers PYRAN® Platinum glass-ceramics for use in non-impact, safety-rated locations such as transoms and windows with fire-rating requirements up to 90 minutes. It is available in a thickness of 3/16 inch (5 mm). For use in fire-rated and impact safety-rated locations such as door lites, transoms or sidelites and windows, SCHOTT offers the following PYRAN® Platinum fire-rated glass-ceramic products: PYRAN® Platinum F, which have surface applied film and is 3/16 inch (5 mm) thick. PYRAN® Platinum L, a laminated glass-ceramic with a transparent appearance and a thickness of ~3/8 inch (9 mm).
