Sales Retention Account Executive

Building Systems Design (BSD) develops and sells innovative software tools for the architecture, engineering, and construction markets of North America. The products are sold on a subscription basis, typically for a term of one year.

The Sales Retention Account Executive is responsible for achieving an acceptable rate of customer retention by ensuring that current customers renew their software subscriptions. A secondary responsibility is up-selling additional software seats and other BSD products.

The Sales Retention Account Executive will be a member of a specialized team of software sales professionals, but will have sole responsibility for renewals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage contract renewals

    • Identify customers whose contracts are expiring.
    • Email renewal invoices.
    • Fax copy of invoices to customers who have not responded to initial renewal invoices.
    • Call customers who have not submitted paid invoices within targeted date range.
  • Win-back

    • Develop, plan, and execute win-back campaigns.
    • Conduct campaigns.
  • Retain and up-sell existing customers

    • Become a power user of BSD software products. Use this knowledge to develop and maintain relationships with existing customers through periodic calls and emails.
    • Up-sell additional seats and additional BSD software products to existing customers.

Requirements:

  • Must have proven ability to meet and exceed quotas while working in a fast-paced, high pressure environment.
  • Must be technology-savvy, resourceful, and a quick learner. Experience working with architects, engineers and design professionals is highly desirable.
  • Must be a team player, able to handle ambiguity, anticipate and react to changes quickly.
  • Must be self-motivated, have a positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution skills and ability to resolve escalated calls.
  • Must be able to multi-task using various computer systems while talking with customers.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required – and knowledge of SalesForce is a plus.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or MBA with at least two years' experience in a related position.
