Vance Mitchell

Vance Mitchell attended the Southern University and A&M College, located in Baton Rouge, LA. After starting a Bachelor of Architecture degree, he changed curriculums and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in French. During his tenure at Southern, he received various awards such as Most Outstanding Student (highest departmental GPA) in the Department of Civil Engineering in 2014, the Student Achievement Award (most active in school organizations) in 2015, Dwight D. Eisenhower Fellowship from 2013-2015, and a host of other achievements/positions in his extracurricular activities. He started at BSD in February of 2017 and is Professional Content Research Assistant and currently reviews and documents outdated Reference Standards and helps review/create new sections in different divisions; He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Building Construction and Facility Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is expected to graduate in 2019.
