Meet the management team that has created a family of software products and productivity tools for architects, engineers, and design professionals. They are recognized throughout the country as subject matter experts in the fields of specification writing, cost estimating, and computer-aided design.

Christopher Anderson

Christopher Anderson

President and CEO

Prior to his acceptance of the position at BSD, Mr. Anderson served as Vice President, Data Strategy & Consulting with The Gordian Group, which recently acquired RS Means, the premier U.S. source of building cost data. In his role at Gordian, Mr. Anderson specialized in data strategy and analytics, covering all aspects of the building construction lifecycle from conception through facility management. Prior to the Gordian Group position, Chris was General Manager at RS Means, where he was responsible for all aspects of the business, including development and execution of customer growth strategy for the company’s construction pricing data and consulting services to building owners and facility managers.

Chip B

Chip Bullock, AIA, LEED AP BD+C

Director of Specifications

Chip Bullock is a registered architect and is the Director of Specifications at BSD. He manages teams responsible for BSD SpecLink-E, BSD LinkMan-E, and Revit object development. He has been actively involved in architectural and engineering design, including development of construction specifications, over the course of his career. He is a member of AIA, CSI, and USGBC.

Chip is committed to the continuous improvement and integration of BSD’s SoftLink products for Design and Construction Professionals, Facility Owners and Operators, and Building Product Manufacturers.

Prior to joining BSD, Chip was the Managing Principal and Director of Architecture for the HDR Atlanta office. Chip has over thirty years of diverse experience, including from the owner’s perspective as a facility management leader at the Centers for Disease Control and at Emory University in Atlanta.

Chip is an expert in advanced,environmentally friendly design and construction for many facility types,including Higher Education, Science + Technology, and Healthcare. Chip has made presentations across the United States on such topics as integrating sustainable design and construction, BIM processes, managing costs against sustainable value, and technical decision-making.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee with high honors, he is also the recipient of many awards and honors throughout his professional career.

Rob Dean

Robert Paul Dean, FAIA, FCSI, CCS

Chairman of the Board

Robert Dean is Chairman of the Board. A licensed architect since 1968, he joined the company in 1993 as Vice President with the task of expanding the company’s product line and services beyond construction cost estimating. Rob originated BSD SpecLink and continues to be involved in its ongoing enhancement. He designed and assisted in production of the PerSpective® product for a joint venture between the Construction Specifications Institute and the Design-Build Institute of America. He also designed and managed the development of AGC DocuBuilder® for the Associated General Contractors of America. 

Prior to joining BSD, Rob developed the first commercial automated specification system in the United States. As Vice President at Heery International, Inc., he originated the concept for a Q&A specification system for the microcomputer. It was ultimately developed by Rob for the Sweet’s Division of McGraw-Hill, Inc. and launched in 1989 as SweetSpec. It was later transferred to the American Institute of Architects, where it was re-christened MASTERSPEC Q&A. Rob served as Director of the project at AIA, until it was moved from Atlanta to Washington, D.C. in 1993.

Rob was an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Tulane University for six years, where he taught a number of technical subjects in addition to design studios. He has instructed students in subjects as diverse as building construction, architectural acoustics, energy conservation in buildings, mechanical and electrical equipment of buildings, and alternative energy sources (solar energy, wind power, etc.). Rob holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University and Master of Architecture degrees from Tulane and the University of Washington.

Rob E

Robert Epstein

Director of Marketing

Robert Epstein joined the company in 2009 and is responsible for leading the company’s internal sales and business development teams, as well as optimizing efficiency in sales operations. In addition, he manages the company’s marketing and customer communications functions.

Prior to joining BSD, Rob worked for ATT, Verizon, Xerox, and most recently Cox Communications, where he was responsible for strategic planning, marketing, advertising, market research, and sales. Rob has a proven track record of developing brands while enhancing the marketing and sales functions. His mix of sales and marketing proficiency combined with a highly developed technological and creative understanding uniquely qualifies him for his position.

Rob has an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BA degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

Joe G

Joseph Guthrie, Assoc. AIA

Chief Operating Officer

Joseph Guthrie is responsible for day-to-day business operations, including administration, office management, financial management, accounting, and HR functions of the company.

Joe joined BSD with over 10 years of experience in the architectural industry, 2 years as a mechanical designer and engineer, and more than 8 years in operations and finance experience in various other industries, including automotive engineering, technology, and construction. Prior to joining BSD, Joe was a business management consultant, working with small and medium-sized businesses around the metro Atlanta area in order to improve business operations and efficiencies. Joe has a Bachelor of Architecture and Business degree from Southern Polytechnic State University, as well as an MBA with concentration in Operations and Finance from Kennesaw State University.

Dan P

Daniel Price

Director of Software Engineering

Dan Price leads the team that is responsible for the design and programming of all BSD software. Dan joined BSD in December 2005 as a Senior Software Engineer and played a major role in the design and development of the company's SpecLink-E software.

Prior to BSD, he worked as a senior software developer in various fields that include automotive insurance, financial services and health care. Dan has over 20 years of software engineering experience and earned a BBA in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University in Atlanta.

Tom S

Tom Stein

Director of Technical Services

Tom Stein and his team are responsible for strategic and operational technical functions of the company. He and his team are also responsible for all aspects of customer support and training. He joined the BSD team in December 2011 as the customer support manager.

Tom has over 20 years of computer- and software-related experience. His expertise ranges from management consulting to supporting multiple software packages and their working environments. His background includes technical support, computer operations, and management-level positions. He is actively researching new and unique ways to deliver our software content to our customers. Prior to BSD, he was the manager of technical support for ABOL Software for 7 years supporting their international operations and customers as well as implementing new custom solutions. Tom earned a BS in management from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.

Paul Worosz

Director of Sales

Paul Worosz is an accomplished, high energy sales professional with experience in both quick and long cycle transactional sales. His strong solution sales skills have enabled him to consistently grow revenue for his employers. He is an accomplished and seasoned sales professional and team leader who consistently proves his ability to build outstanding rapport with clients at all levels. Paul is a passionate salesman who leads by example.

Prior to joining BSD in 2012, Paul spent several years in the motorsports industry working with Mylaps Sports Timing, the leader in automatic sports timing systems.
