BSD at the AIA Convention in New Orleans
Laissez les bon temps rouler! BSD was in New Orleans at the AIA convention in early May, with a contingent of eight people. We met and spoke with 150-200 attendees at the booth – both current and prospective customers – as well as a variety of visitors. We gave away hundreds of tote bags emblazoned with the BSD SpecLink-E logo. We also ate a lot of wonderful Creole and Cajun food while we were there in the Crescent City.Attendance was down from previous years, but we heard lots of upbeat news about projects and upcoming work from our visitors. Of course, we also had to remind ourselves that the firms who are not yet doing so well were probably not represented at the convention.
BSD participated in a Honda Hybrid Sweepstakes that required entrants to visit and get an entry form stamped at eight different booths (including BSD’s). Several hundred completed entry forms were submitted, and the drawing for a winner occurred on Saturday, May 14, the last day of the exhibition.
The winner is Jefferey Gross, AIA, CSI -- an architect from Hollywood, Florida. As you might imagine, Jefferey was surprised and pleased to hear that he had won the Honda Hybrid CR-Z, which is a very sleek and sporty-looking vehicle.
Our next convention will be Construct 2011 in Chicago, September 14-16. We’ll have a 20 x 20 booth that is adjacent to the CSI feature booth, so we hope many of our current and former customers will drop by to see what’s new. We are also planning to host a SpecLink user forum, with continuing education credits available. We will make more announcements about the details as we get closer to the convention dates.
